Cameo at the Tribeca New Music Festival

June 2, 2010

Next Wednesday, June 9, New York Polyphony (with special guest baritone Jesse Blumberg) makes a cameo in a performance by Bora Yoon and Pamela Z at the Tribeca New Music Festival.

NYP will join Bora for Semaphore Conductus, a “choral sound installation sung in surround, inspired by the conduction of energy, the language of signals and sound.”  The piece was commissioned and premiered by the Young People’s Chorus of New York, but, for this performance, Bora has reworked it to fit our voices.

PRESS BLURB: “Two extraordinary composer/ performers who have taken vocal improvisation, audio sampling, looping and sound design to new levels are Pamela Z and Bora Yoon. They will be joined by the amazing vocal quartet New York Polyphony and video artist Luke DuBois as they draw from their vast repertoire of sounds, sights and experience to present a new evening of works for this final Tribeca New Music Festival blow-out!”
